PROJECT BRIEF
USA TODAY is a multi-platform news and information media company. Using unique visual storytelling, USA TODAY delivers high-quality and engaging content across print, digital, social and video platforms. They seek to provide an improved experience that delivers their audience with relevant news in an efficient manor that they are able to fit into their busy lifestyles. As well as allowing their audience to effortlessly share content across various social media platforms.
PURPOSE
Today's generation of what is called millennials, are part of the want it fast generation and they are always looking for convenience. There is a growing need for a credible and reliable news source that inspires millennials to consume current topics of varying categories that will sparks productive and healthy conversation.
USER RESEARCH
When a group of 25 individuals were surveyed, of varying ages and gender, results showed the various ways users consume news such as; varying times of days, electronic device and platforms.

USER FLOWS
After doing user research, it was important to design a versatile news app that was appealing to different types of users. Whether they are looking for a custom news experience or casual news reading. 
EXPERT CONSUMER
Reads the news everyday on the way to work. Very active on social media sharing news articles with friends. Prefers to add highlights to the shared articles to exaggerate the important aspects.  


CASUAL CONSUMER 
Casually reads the top news articles of the day before going to bed at night. Looking to stay informed on current events but doesn't typically discuss topics with others. 
SKETCHES & WIREFRAMES
While building the wireframes I referred back to my user flow and user personas to understand the interest of multiple types of users. The app needed to be user friendly and easy to navigate, meeting various user needs. 
STYLE GUIDE
FINAL COMPS
Users of USA Today Top 10 are able to view the the top 10 stories of the day in an easily digestible format, having the days most current events at the users finger tips. By providing the news in a quick rundown format it helps to encourage those who don't typically view the news, for the fear of being overwhelmed. As well as enticing users who have a busy day but still want to engage in current events topics with their friends and families, by providing the ability to highlight articles and share with others. The final design focuses on convivence and inspiring conversation.
